It’s the Ikano Robin Hood Marathon this weekend and Teaching Forces’ very own Edward Mawson will be lining up on the start line to join the 10,000 runners taking part.

Edward is our Senior SEN Recruitment Consultant and will be running the half marathon this Sunday to raise funds for Channeling Positivity, a local SEN school.

As an new alternative provision free school, Channeling Positivity opened back in September 2015 to provide an alternative education for young people aged 13-16 years who are finding it hard to attend and succeed in a mainstream school. Edward works closely with the local school and decided to run to raise funds to support them when Founder and Principal, Justine Drury told him they needed sports equipment for the gym.

The 13.1 miles will take in some of the key sights throughout Nottingham but Edward claims that he will be keeping his head down, turning the music up and focusing on the finish line. He has previously run the Robin Hood half marathon twice in the past but he claims that he hates running and completing 13.1 miles is never easy!

Edward will be proudly sporting a Teaching Force and Channeling Positivity branded top so please do give him a shout if you spot him on the course. He has also promised us a finishers photo so watch this space.
